Item Details.
Solid gold finger ring, oval thick central bezel inscribed with the letters, ‘VTERE FELIX’, in capitals, which translates to "use happily" or "use with luck". These inscriptions were common on personal items like rings, fibulas and bracelets and were meant to bring good fortune to the owner.

Provenance: British private collection, acquired prior to 2000.
