Item Details.
Signed on each side in the handle zone: XENOKLES EPOIESEN, "Xenokles made me," palmettes with added red on either side of the handles, black bands encircling the cup above and below the inscription, the reserved tondo centred by a single black circle. Extremely rare.

Provenance: Kerr Collection; with Charles Ede Ltd, London, 1989 (Pottery from Athens XI, no.22); Anonymous sale; Christie’s, New York, 16 June 2006, lot 95.
