Item Details.
Decorated on two sides with the profile head of a lady of fashion wearing the saccos headdress separated by palmettes. The base with a band of laurel leaves.

The skyphoid pyxis was a very popular cosmetic vase type in the Greek Colony of Sicily.

Provenance: The collection of the late Sir Clinton Charles Donald Cory, 5th Baronet of Coryton, acquired at Sotheby's, 21 May 1984.
