Item Details.
Exquisite open-work composition of the war god Monthu holding the anhk sign, the curved sword khepesh behind his back and wearing the Double Feathers Crown swty, excellent details. Two wide ridged loops at the top for suspension.
Monthu was the local Theban falcon-headed god of war in ancient Egyptian religion, an embodiment of the conquering vitality of the pharaoh.

Provenance: Ex. Collection A. K., acquired prior to 2000 on the London art market.
