Item Details.
Bearing dense lines of cuneiform text on one face and side, listing records of cereals gathered in the royal official stores, also with three types of cereals from various fields.
Emerging in ancient Mesopotamia, cuneiform was one of the earliest forms of writing. Babylonian society has a complex social structure with a need to generate records. Such documents were written in wet clay which was then left to dry.

Provenance: Acquired before 1990. From a private London, UK, collection. With Ancient Art, London N14, UK.
