Item Details.

Wearing the frontal apron of the foreman overseer, black wig, carrying two hoes in his hands. A frontal column with hieroglyphs identifying him as the “High priest of Ptah LYRI”
The third successor of Khâemouaset to the position of Ptah High Priest of the Memphis clergy, Iyri also bore the titles of Divine Father, Sem of Ptah, Superior of the Secrets of the Temple of Ptah, First Prophet of Osiris, Lord of Ro-Setaou, Director of the Prophets. He was also Governor of the city of Memphis, first nobleman at the head of the Double Country and, finally, Leader of the Greater Men of the Kingdom. Ref: see L. Aubert, Statuettes Egyptiennes 1974.
