Item Details.
Flat, possibly ceremonial, with a narrow rectangular section, an indentation to the narrower end, the body with a later inscription in Greek to one side. Largely cryptic, but with a reference to ‘the holy place’, possibly found at a site of religious significance before the addition of the inscription.

Provenance: Ex Ward collection, acquired on the London art market in the 1980s. ex. Timeline auction, Oct. 2012.
