Item Details.
Columnar type with fine moulded facial features, hands pressed together holding a tambourine. Such priestesses would play the drum or tambourine in the streets or outside temples inviting worshippers to the temple.

Provenance: From a collection acquired on the UK art market from various auction houses and collections mostly before 2000. From an important Cambridgeshire estate; thence by descent.
