Item Details.
Rock crystal carved finely with the details of the scarab beetle, the base engraved with the Royal cartouche of Piankhi.
Piankhi (741–715 BC) was the king of ancient Nubia who initiated the invasion of Lower Egypt and eventually founded the 25th dynasty of Egypt. With his valour he conquered a great nation and established his name as its Pharaoh.

Provenance: Collection Mr. A. B., London UK, acquired on the London art market in 1991.
