Item Details.
Egyptian polychrome painted wooden shabti figure wearing the black tripartite wig, the body in orange brown. The face and hands painted in dark red, with the eyes, eyebrows and mouth in black. The agricultural implements held by the hands and seed basket on the back delineated in reddish brown. A vertical column of bold text in black on the front, with the first sign of the name a little unclear but can be read as “Words spoken by Osiris Lord of eternity” then the name either Mer-Mer or Min-Mer but more likely Sa-r-mer.

Provenance: From the estate of a West Sussex collector, previously with the Hoare Family Collection, Wiltshire. ex. Tooveys auction, UK.
