Egypt, New Kingdom, c. 1550-1295 B.C.
Item Details.
Realistically carved green serpentine with highly polished surface, showing excellent details of the wings-case, legs tucked under the body. The top of the scarab carved with the head of Falcon Horus in high relief. Exquisite. This hypothetical combination of a scarab beetle and a falcon would be a fusion of the beetle's symbolism of rebirth and the falcon's representation of divine protection and kingship, creating a unique and powerful mythical creature.
