Item Details.
Decorated with a large profile of Nike, goddess of victory, wearing a stephane, sakkos, earrings and beaded necklace. Her two wings on either side, large palmette at the back, band of laurel leaves around the neck, knotted handle. The lid decorated with miniature head of a lady in profile and two palmettes.

Provenance: Desmond Morris collection, Oxford, acquired in the early 1970s.
