Item Details.
In the shape of a centaur in profile looking to his left, one arm raised to hold probably a spear, tip of which is incised by the centaur’s shoulder. Other details are also faintly incised, including the cap and part of his curly hair. Such appliques would be riveted to a hoplite shield. Provenance: Private UK collection, acquired in Europe in the 1990s.
